Bob Dylan joined Billy Strings onstage at the Outlaw Music Festival for a rare duet of "All Along the Watchtower."
On May 22, 2025, during the Outlaw Music Festival in Spokane, Washington, Bob Dylan invited guitarist Billy Strings onstage for a rare, stripped-down performance of "All Along the Watchtower," marking the first time Dylan had brought a fellow festival performer onto his stage during his 2025 tour.
The collaboration highlighted Dylan’s extensive history with the song, which he has performed 2,266 times—more than any other in his career.
Strings, a longtime admirer of Dylan’s work and a festival performer since May 13, had previously played the song in Asheville in October 2022.
The festival, featuring Dylan, Willie Nelson, and rotating acts including Sheryl Crow, the Avett Brothers, Wilco, and Turnpike Troubadours, ran through September 19.
