Volunteers at St. Peter’s Health made 180 stockings for babies and patients, continuing a 72-year-old Christmas tradition.
For the 72nd year, over 70 volunteers at St. Peter’s Health in Helena completed the Arlene Matthews Sock Sew, a tradition started in 1953.
They made 70 baby stockings for newborns born in December and 110 patient stockings filled with treats for those hospitalized on Christmas.
The event, honoring Matthews’ legacy after her 2020 passing, continues to bring community members together in a shared act of care and holiday spirit.
