U.S. launches probe into Pakistani dental product exporters over IP infringement, risking import bans and supply impacts.
The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched a Section 337 investigation into multiple Pakistani dental product exporters, including Pawn Move, Ali House of Dental, and Mahfooz Instruments, over allegations of importing and selling dental burs and kits that infringe intellectual property rights.
The probe, initiated on December 16, follows a complaint by Huwais IP Holding LLC and Versah, LLC seeking import bans, cease-and-desist orders, and bonds during a 60-day presidential review.
The Commission is assessing whether such remedies would harm public health, safety, and welfare, and whether domestic or other foreign suppliers could replace the affected products.
The outcome could impact availability, pricing, and patient care in the U.S., highlighting ongoing concerns about IP compliance in global dental instrument supply chains.
