Two men in Jharkhand were arrested for allegedly trying to extort ₹1 crore from a jeweler, Ranjit Soni, via threatening WhatsApp messages claiming to act for gangster Prince Khan, believed based in a Gulf country.
Police raided a construction site on December 25, seizing weapons, phones, a car, and a jewelry receipt, and found that the suspects had conducted surveillance and received ₹24,000 to fund the attack.
The suspects, Mohammad Nazim and Murtaza Ansari, confessed to planning a shooting to instill fear.
The case, the first known extortion attempt in Medininagar linked to Khan, is under ongoing investigation.
