Rossana Fajardo resigned as ICI commissioner after completing her probe into infrastructure corruption, handing over cases to justice agencies.
Rossana Fajardo resigned as commissioner of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) effective December 31, 2025, citing completion of her mandate to investigate infrastructure corruption, particularly in flood control projects.
Her departure leaves Chair Andres Reyes Jr. as the sole remaining commissioner, following earlier resignations of Rogelio Singson and Benjamin Magalong.
Fajardo stated investigative and prosecutorial duties should now transition to agencies like the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman, and she endorsed new legislation to create permanent oversight bodies.
The ICI, established by President Marcos via executive order, has referred eight cases to the Ombudsman, frozen over P20.3 billion in assets, and led to 16 arrests.
Reyes emphasized the commission’s time-bound mission is nearing completion, with final reports to support ongoing prosecutions.
