PUNL gets £500K to expand clean energy projects in north and east London, supporting 20+ initiatives and fighting fuel poverty.
Power Up North London (PUNL) has received a £500,000 National Lottery grant to expand its decarbonisation work over the next five years, marking its tenth anniversary.
The funding will support hiring paid staff, strengthening its team, and scaling energy-saving projects across north and east London.
Since 2015, PUNL has completed over 40 projects in community buildings, installing 599 kWp of solar capacity, generating enough electricity to power 652 homes annually, and reducing carbon emissions by 500 tonnes.
It has also provided energy advice to over 1,300 households to combat fuel poverty.
The group plans to launch a community share offer and continue expanding with over 20 projects underway.
