Punjab to launch universal health scheme Jan. 15, 2026, covering all families with up to ₹10 lakh in cashless care.
The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has approved the Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana, set to launch on January 15, 2026, offering every family in the state cashless, paperless healthcare coverage up to Rs 10 lakh annually.
The scheme covers hospitalization, surgeries, critical care, diagnostics, medicines, ICU services, and pre- and post-hospitalization expenses at empanelled government and private hospitals across Punjab and Chandigarh.
It aims to provide universal health coverage with no income restrictions, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses and improving access to quality care.
Punjab will become the first Indian state to offer such comprehensive, family-wide health benefits.
