Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of the Merck Foundation, met with Liberia’s First Lady, Mrs. Kartumu Yarta Boakai, to announce 52 medical scholarships awarded to Liberian doctors in key specialties, enabling many to become the first specialists in their fields.
The First Lady also highlighted her “Educating Linda” program, supporting 40 underprivileged girls annually.
Discussions focused on advancing healthcare, expanding medical training, and strengthening Liberia’s health system through collaborative initiatives.
