Former Paralympian Rob Hughes seeks $5,400 for a lift chair due to mobility issues from cerebral palsy and cancer, with $3,500 raised by Dec. 26, 2025.
Rob Hughes, a former Canadian Paralympian from Sarnia and longtime Sarnia Sting statistician, is raising funds for a $5,400 lift chair after his current one failed, worsening mobility challenges from cerebral palsy and a recent chronic follicular lymphoma diagnosis.
He says the chair is essential for safety, pain management, and independence, not a luxury.
Relying on the Ontario Disability Support Program, he launched a GoFundMe campaign that had raised about $3,500 by December 26, 2025, reaching roughly 65% of its goal.
