Belfast to host Fleadh Cheoil 2026, first time in city, expected to draw 700K visitors and boost economy.
Belfast will host the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in August 2026, the world’s largest Irish music and culture festival, for the first time in the city and only the second time north of the Irish border since 2013.
Organizers expect over 700,000 visitors and £60 million in economic impact, drawing interest from across Ireland and internationally.
Tourism NI’s Aine Kearney said the event could boost cross-border tourism and sustain momentum from the 2025 Open Championship, which generated £280 million in economic benefit and £191 million in global marketing value.
The Fleadh will feature eight days of concerts, street performances, pop-up gigs, and community ceilis, with officials highlighting its potential to strengthen Northern Ireland’s cultural and tourism profile.
