Andhra Pradesh seeks central approval and funds for a new agricultural university and farming initiatives, citing 10.7% agricultural growth.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has formally requested the central government to establish a Central Agricultural University in the state, as mandated by the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, submitting a ₹2,585 crore project report.
During a meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he also sought funds for micro-irrigation expansion, a coconut park, aqua labs, and natural farming clusters, along with support for banana transport and Pulicat Lake development.
He cited a 10.7% growth in agriculture, attributing it to a five-point plan, and urged the Centre to declare Andhra a national resource state for natural farming.
