A 17-year-old has been arrested in Vero Beach in connection with a Monday evening shooting at a laundromat parking lot, where a juvenile sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at Sunshine Laundry, where a suspect fired multiple shots into a vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Police recovered four spent casings, located the vehicle 20 minutes later with three occupants, and used surveillance footage and witness accounts to identify and arrest the suspect early Tuesday.
The teen, now in the Department of Juvenile Justice, faces charges including aggravated battery with a firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
