Vietnam’s top leader reviews anti-corruption efforts, recovering $48M and targeting 21 major cases in 2026.
On December 25, 2025, Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam chaired the Central Steering Committee’s 29th meeting, reviewing anti-corruption progress and setting 2026 priorities.
Authorities recovered over 1.27 trillion VND ($48.25 million) in assets, disciplined 9,600 Party members and 330 organizations, and prosecuted six high-level officials.
Over 130 Party documents, 89 laws, and 900 decrees were issued to strengthen governance.
For 2026, the focus includes resolving 21 major cases, improving asset recovery through digital tools and international cooperation, harmonizing laws, and enhancing transparency and oversight.
