Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni officially opened the $130 million Hoima City Stadium on December 25, 2025, a 20,000-seater venue built in record time for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania.
The stadium, located in western Uganda, features an indoor arena, swimming pool, training facilities, and parking, and was completed by Turkish contractors ahead of schedule.
