Two women died in a Christmas Eve crash in southwest Minnesota; the truck driver was uninjured and had the right of way.
Two women, 71-year-old Patricia Ann Struiksma of Chandler and 69-year-old Donna Jean Vanthof of Leota, died in a crash on Christmas Eve at a rural intersection in southwest Minnesota.
The collision occurred just before 1:45 p.m. near Trosky, where a minivan traveling west on a rural road collided with a semi-truck moving north on Highway 75.
The truck driver, 53-year-old Chad Walters of Pipestone, was uninjured and had the right of way.
All three occupants were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not involved.
Struiksma died at the scene; Vanthof was hospitalized in Pipestone and later succumbed to her injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the cause.
