A planned shoe sale at a Kroger parking lot in west Little Rock, Arkansas, turned into a shootout Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. Jayden Carson, the seller, said he was confronted at gunpoint by a man he knew only as “Nate” while selling a pair of Jordan shoes.
The suspect, who arrived in a navy-blue sedan, demanded the shoes without payment and drew a black handgun.
Carson fled behind a red SUV, returned fire after being shot at, and believed he hit the suspect, who fled on foot and in his vehicle.
No injuries were reported, but bullet damage was found on at least two vehicles.
Carson’s firearm was seized, and the case is under investigation by the Little Rock Police Department’s Major Crimes unit.
