On December 24, 2025, Ghana’s Volta Aluminum Company (VALCO) held its first strategic meeting since the formation of its new Governing Board, led by Ambassador Horace Nii Ayi Ankrah.

VALCO, established in 1967 as part of Ghana’s Volta River Project, remains the country’s primary aluminum smelter, processing local bauxite under government ownership via GIADEC.
