Actor Daniel Stern to sculpt iconic Home Alone tarantula scene for permanent display at movie's Illinois filming location.
Actor Daniel Stern, known for playing Marv Murchins in the 1990 film Home Alone, has been commissioned to create a bronze sculpture of the movie’s iconic tarantula scene.
The piece, depicting his character screaming in fear as a spider is placed on his face, will be permanently installed at the Winnetka, Illinois, home used for exterior shots.
Stern, now a sculptor and farmer, described the work as his first self-portrait, joking he made himself “a lot handsomer.” The sculpture is expected to be completed in a few months and will be displayed at the home, which recently sold for $5.5 million and is a popular tourist destination.
Home Alone, starring Macaulay Culkin, remains a holiday favorite and is available on Disney+.
