Thailand is advancing as a key AI hub in ASEAN, leveraging strategic data center growth in Bangkok and Chonburi, along with new land-based digital corridors linking China, Laos, and Thailand to reduce latency. This geographic advantage supports faster connectivity for AI, fintech, and telemedicine across the Asia-Pacific. Despite challenges like limited submarine cable capacity and outdated routing, Thailand is upgrading its infrastructure with ultra-high-bandwidth sea-land links, autonomous network routing, and AI-powered active-active data centers. These efforts aim to meet projected data demands of 2,000 MW in data centers and 630 Tbps in cross-border traffic by 2029, solidifying its role in ASEAN’s digital future.
