South Dakota seeks to block abortion pill ads at 30 gas stations, calling them misleading and illegal under state law.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has filed a court motion seeking to halt ads for abortion pills placed at about 30 gas stations since December 8, 2025, by Mayday Health and Momentara.
The ads, which the state claims mislead women—especially teens—about risks and encourage secrecy from doctors and parents, are alleged to violate South Dakota’s strict abortion laws.
While some stations have removed the ads, others remain.
Jackley’s office argues the ads pose immediate harm and seeks a preliminary or permanent injunction, with potential penalties of up to $5,000 per violation if ignored.
A hearing has not yet been scheduled.
