Siya Kolisi, South Africa’s first Black Springbok captain and two-time Rugby World Cup winner, will return to the Stormers in July 2026 on a three-year contract through 2029, rejoining the Cape Town club where he began his career.
The move, part of the team’s “Project 2029” vision, comes as Kolisi seeks to be closer to his children in Cape Town after his divorce and involves a significant pay cut.
He will play a leadership role in mentoring young players and helping rebuild the franchise, which is under new ownership.
Kolisi, 34, previously played for the Sharks and Racing 92 before returning to the Sharks in 2024.
His return marks a personal and strategic milestone for both him and the Stormers.
