Poland deploys homegrown anti-drone system on Belarus border to counter smuggling and hybrid threats.
Poland has deployed a domestically built anti-drone system along its border with Belarus, with initial components installed in the Podlaskie Voivodeship and planned expansion to five observation towers by January.
The move, part of a broader security upgrade, follows concerns over hybrid threats, including nearly 30,000 attempted illegal crossings in 2025 and the discovery of a concealed tunnel near Narewka.
The system aims to detect and neutralize drones used for smuggling or surveillance.
Over 2 billion zlotys have been invested in border security, with another 2.5 billion planned for next year, supported by EU funds.
