Odisha to build a modern, solar-powered bus terminal in Baripada named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, boosting regional transport and tourism.

The Odisha government plans to build an airport-style Atal Bus Stand in Baripada, Mayurbhanj district, on 5 acres of land, featuring modern amenities like digital signage, Wi-Fi, solar lighting, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. The terminal, named after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, aims to improve regional connectivity, decongest the existing bus stand, and boost tourism to Similipal National Park. It will include a bus depot, green infrastructure, and a 10-acre greening initiative with over 6,000 saplings. The project, fully funded by the state, aligns with Odisha’s vision for sustainable, future-ready public transport.
