India and New Zealand signed a trade deal boosting Indian exports, student visas, and work permits, but Māori groups question its fairness.
India and New Zealand have signed a comprehensive free trade agreement granting Indian exporters zero duty on 100% of tariff lines, boosting access to New Zealand’s market, especially in textiles and apparel.
Indian students in New Zealand now qualify for extended post-study work visas—up to four years for STEM and postgraduate students, three years for bachelor’s with honors, and two years for others.
