The Union Cabinet has approved Delhi Metro's Phase V(A) expansion, adding 16.076 km of track and 13 new stations—10 underground and three elevated—across three corridors at a cost of ₹12,015 crore.
The project, set for completion within three years, includes routes from RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, Aerocity to IGD Airport Terminal-1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, enhancing connectivity to government offices, airports, and residential areas.
It aims to reduce traffic congestion, support sustainable mobility, and cut 33,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
The expansion will extend the network beyond 400 km, reinforcing Delhi Metro’s role as a key transit system serving around 65 million daily passengers.
