On December 27, 2025, two Kwanzaa events will celebrate African and African American heritage through culture, community, and the seven principles of Kwanzaa.
On December 27, 2025, Broward’s African-American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale will host its Kwanzaa celebration, “Africa Rising: Celebrating Heritage, Building Futures,” from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring wellness activities, workshops, a youth zone, and the inaugural Nguzo Saba Awards.
The free public event highlights Kwanzaa’s principle of self-determination and includes a marketplace of Black-owned vendors.
Meanwhile, the African American Museum of Iowa and WIN will hold a similar celebration from 12 to 3 p.m. on the same day, focusing on cultural education and community unity.
Both events honor the seven principles of Kwanzaa, a secular holiday created in 1966 to celebrate African and African American heritage.
