Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper, 33, has announced he will represent Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, his first appearance in the tournament since missing the 2023 edition due to elbow surgery.
The two-time MVP, who played primarily at first base last season, hit .261 with 27 home runs and 75 RBIs in 132 games.
Harper, a career .280 hitter with 363 home runs and 1,051 RBIs, joins a U.S. roster that includes Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh, Bobby Witt Jr., and pitchers Paul Skenes, Tarik Skubal, and Mason Miller.
Team USA’s 2026 opening game is scheduled for March 6 against Brazil in Houston as part of Pool B.
The U.S. won the WBC in 2017 and finished as runners-up to Japan in 2023.
