Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf to return to PGA Tour, citing family and a one-year suspension.
Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion, has become the first player to leave LIV Golf, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
The departure, described as mutual and amicable by LIV CEO Scott O'Neil, comes after Koepka struggled in 2025, finishing 31st in the standings and missing multiple cuts.
Though he had two years left on his contract, Koepka is now seeking to return to the PGA Tour, which requires a one-year suspension after leaving LIV—ending August 24.
He played four European Tour events this year, including a fourth-place finish at the French Open.
LIV has signed Victor Perez and Laurie Canter for 2026 and awaits a decision on its application to join the Official World Golf Ranking.
