Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced millions in federal and state grants to help low-income households with heating and cooling costs through the LIHEAP program.
Administered by ADECA, the funds—sourced from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act—will support 18 community action agencies across the state.
The grants, ranging from $202,227 to $9.27 million, will assist vulnerable populations like the elderly, people with disabilities, and young children during extreme weather.
