Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged students at the first convocation of Krishna Guru Spiritual University in Assam’s Barpeta district to merge modern education with spiritual values, emphasizing ethical character, social responsibility, and inner strength as essential for India’s development during the Amrit Kaal.
Speaking alongside Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya, Sonowal highlighted the university’s transformation from a flood-prone area into a center of holistic learning, crediting his own service to his guru’s teachings.
The event honored graduates with degrees and medals, and awarded an honorary doctorate to Satriya dance maestro Jatin Goswami for cultural contributions.
