A Turkish book event celebrated the release of the Turkish translation of Chinese archaeologist Fan Jinshi’s memoir on Dunhuang’s preservation.
A book-sharing event for the Turkish edition of "My Heart Belongs to Dunhuang," the autobiography of Chinese archaeologist Fan Jinshi, took place on December 16 at the 42nd International Istanbul Book Fair.
The Chinese delegation showcased over 700 titles.
The book, co-authored with Gu Chunfang, details Fan’s five-decade work at Dunhuang’s Mogao Caves, including her pioneering digital preservation efforts.
Originally published in 2019, it has been translated into seven languages.
In a video message, Fan highlighted international collaborations with scholars from the U.S. and Japan in restoring the site’s murals, emphasizing cultural heritage as a product of global exchange.
