A Pune court denied bail to suspended official Suryakant Yeole in a ₹300-crore land scam involving illegal sale of government land.
A Pune court has denied anticipatory bail to suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yeole in a Rs 300-crore land scam involving the illegal sale of 40 acres of government land in Mundhwa to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm linked to Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
The court ruled against bail after prosecutors said Yeole issued wrongful eviction and ownership orders despite knowing the land belonged to the state, facilitating a sale that bypassed stamp duty worth Rs 21 crore.
The case, which also involves land in Bopodi, has been merged, with nine individuals named, including Sheetal Tejwani and Digvijay Patil.
The land deal was recently canceled after revelations it involved government property.
