Nigeria's INEC chairman honored by University of Jos for leadership in electoral reform and public service.
The Nigerian federal government, through Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, congratulated INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan on receiving the University of Jos’s “Great Ambassador” award during its 50th alumni anniversary and 35th–36th convocation.
The honor recognized Amupitan’s leadership in electoral reform, academic excellence, and public service, highlighting his contributions to democratic governance and institutional integrity.
A University of Jos alumnus with degrees in law and a professorship, he was named a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2014 and has authored over 50 works on law and governance.
