Instacart has ended its AI-driven price testing program that caused identical grocery items to have different prices for customers ordering at the same time from the same store, following public backlash and regulatory scrutiny.
The company, which acquired Eversight in 2022, said it will no longer allow retailers to run such tests, ensuring consistent pricing for the same items.
The move comes after reports revealed up to 23% price differences for identical products and a $60 million FTC settlement over misleading delivery fee claims.
