He also appeared in the 1981 film *Escape to Victory* and played for Swansea, Colchester, and Bury Town.
After retiring, he moved to Ireland, where he taught and recommended player Ronan Murray to Ipswich.
He is remembered for his kindness and contributions to both football and education.
