A fire at Sydney’s Dove and Olive pub started in a rooftop shed, forced evacuations, disrupted transit, but caused no injuries.
A fire at the heritage-listed Dove and Olive pub in Sydney’s Surry Hills erupted shortly after 1:30 pm on Tuesday, originating in a rooftop shed and sending smoke billowing into the air.
Emergency services, including multiple fire trucks and police, responded, evacuating around 100 people and temporarily halting light rail services on the Randwick and Kingsford lines due to proximity.
The blaze was contained to the roof, with no injuries reported, and services resumed later in the day at reduced frequency.
The cause remains under investigation.
