At the UN's WSIS+20 meeting, global leaders adopted a consensus outcome to boost cybersecurity and digital inclusion.
On December 16–17, 2025, Vineet Kumar, founder of CyberPeace, urged global leaders at the UN’s WSIS+20 meeting to strengthen international cooperation against rising cyber threats, including ransomware, AI-driven disinformation, and online exploitation.
Speaking during the review of the World Summit on the Information Society’s 20-year progress, he emphasized the need for enhanced cyber resilience, protection of vulnerable groups, expanded digital literacy, and multistakeholder collaboration.
The UN General Assembly adopted the WSIS+20 Outcome Document by consensus on December 17, affirming a commitment to secure, inclusive, and people-centered digital development.
