A major power outage in San Francisco on December 20, 2025, affected up to 130,000 customers, peaking at one-third of PG&E’s city service, due to a fire at a substation at 8th and Mission streets.
By Sunday morning, about 110,000 customers had power restored, with 21,000 still without electricity in areas including the Richmond, Presidio, and downtown.
