ROHM and Tata Electronics to make Indian-designed car semiconductors in India starting 2026.

Japanese semiconductor firm ROHM and India’s Tata Electronics have partnered to manufacture power semiconductors in India, starting with India-designed automotive-grade MOSFETs set for mass production in 2026. The collaboration leverages ROHM’s device technology and Tata’s assembly and test capabilities, supporting India’s “Make in India” initiative and strengthening regional supply chains. The companies plan to co-develop advanced packaging technologies and expand their global market reach through shared sales networks. The move supports Tata’s broader semiconductor investments, including major fabrication and testing facilities in Gujarat and Assam, targeting sectors like automotive, AI, and defense.
