Volaris and Viva Aerobús have agreed to merge their holding companies in a 50-50 deal set to close in 2026, creating a new Mexican airline group.
The merger, pending regulatory and shareholder approval, will keep the airlines operating under separate brands while enhancing connectivity, expanding routes, and investing in infrastructure and technology.
The combined group will focus on growing services in the Mexico City area, particularly at Felipe Angeles International Airport, and explore codeshares and frequent flyer integration.
