Kansas basketball coach Joe Dooley suspended 3 weeks after DUI arrest.
Kansas University has suspended men's basketball assistant coach Joe Dooley for three weeks following his arrest on December 21, 2025, on suspicion of driving under the influence, failing to stop after an accident, and transporting an open alcohol container.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dooley, who has served the Jayhawks since 2003, around 11:15 p.m. in Lawrence.
Head coach Bill Self said Dooley exercised poor judgment, expressed remorse, and accepted responsibility.
Dooley, 59, was released on his own recognizance and will miss team activities until January 11, 2026.
