Jordan Peterson returns to the Big 12 as Kansas State’s new defensive coordinator after helping Texas A&M reach the College Football Playoff.
Jordan Peterson has been named Kansas State’s new defensive coordinator, returning to the Big 12 after helping Texas A&M achieve an 11-2 record and a College Football Playoff berth in 2025.
He previously served as co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Texas A&M, where his unit ranked first in third-down defense and second in sacks.
Peterson also mentored multiple All-Big 12 players during his four seasons at Kansas, contributing to the Jayhawks’ first bowl appearance since 2008.
He began his coaching career at Texas A&M as a graduate assistant after playing there as a safety and punt returner.
