Ireland doubles housing fund to €800M, aiming for 5,000 new homes with private sector support.
The Irish government has added €400 million in equity to the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (Isif), doubling its housing investment to €800 million since July 2023.
Combined with €200 million from the banking sector, the total equity reaches €600 million, expected to unlock up to €2 billion in financing for housing projects.
The initiative aims to deliver up to 5,000 new homes and support small and medium-sized builders by improving access to capital and enabling sustainable project pipelines.
Officials say the public investment is effectively attracting private capital and strengthening the long-term housing finance ecosystem, building on a broader goal of over 25,000 homes by 2030.
