Bathurst expands DV Safe Phone program in Feb 2026 with new drop-off sites and recycled phones for abuse survivors.
Bathurst Regional Council is expanding the DV Safe Phone initiative in February 2026 with new phone collection points at the civic centre on Russell Street and Bathurst Library.
The program, initiated after a motion by councillor Elaine West, refurbishes donated phones for survivors of domestic violence.
The council will cover postage and use existing funds, with promotional materials and public outreach planned.
It may also donate sanitized end-of-life devices.
Existing drop-off sites remain at Bathurst Police Station and Bathurst Motor Group, and a national map of all locations is on the DV Safe Phone website.
Unusable phones will be recycled responsibly.
