Aureka found visible gold at its Comstock project in Victoria, with near-surface targets and potential for a small-scale mine.
Aureka Limited has discovered a new gold-bearing structure with visible gold at its Comstock project in Victoria’s goldfields, 125 km northwest of Ballarat, at a depth of 127.6 meters.
The find, in a laminated quartz vein, reveals near-surface drill targets and potential for extensions, building on a maiden inferred resource of 1.45 million tonnes grading 1.21 g/t gold.
Earlier drilling yielded a 1-meter intercept grading 65.37 g/t gold.
Aureka is partnering with Core Prospecting to assess using the underutilized Wedderburn mill for a potential small-scale, high-margin operation, with a scoping study expected early next year.
Ongoing drilling and assay work continue, with more results anticipated soon.
