ArcelorMittal invests $900M in Indian solar and wind projects to boost renewable energy and cut emissions.
ArcelorMittal announced a $900 million investment on December 22, 2025, in three renewable energy projects across India, adding 1 gigawatt of solar and wind capacity with battery storage.
The projects in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat will double the company’s renewable energy capacity in India to 2 GW and support its joint venture, AMNS India, by supplying about 35% of the Hazira steel plant’s electricity.
Together with existing facilities, the new projects could reduce carbon emissions by up to 4 million tonnes annually.
