Two people died in separate Arkansas and Missouri crashes Dec. 18–19; one was in a head-on collision on a wet bridge.
A Missouri man, Joseph Blurton, died and a Paragould woman, Leana Stanfill, was injured in a head-on collision on Arkansas’ Black River Relief Bridge on December 18, 2025, during rainy, wet conditions.
Blurton’s westbound Toyota Corolla crossed into oncoming traffic, striking Stanfill’s eastbound Dodge Charger, with a subsequent collision involving an eastbound Nissan Juke.
Stanfill was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
In a separate incident on December 19, a 50-year-old Toyota Highlander driver died in a four-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 32 in Ste.
Genevieve County after a Kia struck a stopped Volvo, causing a chain reaction.
The Kia driver and two others sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated at local hospitals.
All drivers were wearing seat belts.
