Pakistan’s army chief accuses Afghanistan of harboring militants and warns of threats to stability.
Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, warned the Afghan Taliban are backing terrorist groups that endanger civilians, stating most militants crossing into Pakistan are Afghan nationals and accusing Kabul of harboring them.
Speaking at a national religious conference, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s role as custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, stressed the state alone can declare jihad, and highlighted military readiness, citing Operation Bunyan-e-Marsous.
He urged Afghanistan to either cooperate or cease supporting such elements, emphasizing national and regional stability.
