Nick Kyrgios, the 30-year-old Australian tennis player, has received a wildcard entry to the Brisbane International, marking his return to the ATP Tour after years of injuries and limited play.
The 2018 champion, ranked 673rd with no protected ranking, will compete in Brisbane from January 4–11 and play a "battle of the sexes" match against world number one Aryna Sabalenka in Dubai on December 28.
He will also participate in the Kooyong Classic exhibition in Melbourne.
Kyrgios, who has played only six ATP matches in over three years, said his knee feels significantly improved and expressed renewed confidence.
His comeback aims to position him for a potential wildcard into the Australian Open, with final decisions expected before qualifying begins on January 12.
