A man pleads guilty to threatening his partner with a knife; another sentenced for years of domestic abuse.

A 30-year-old Galashiels man, Jonathan Barnes, has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to threatening to kill his partner and engaging in abusive behavior on July 25, including brandishing a knife and scissors during a disturbance. The case, heard at Selkirk Sheriff Court, led to a sentencing delay until December 29, with bail denied due to public safety concerns. Separately, a 37-year-old man, Lee Robertson, was sentenced to a two-year community payback order and a 10-year non-harassment order after admitting to a four-year pattern of domestic abuse, including physical violence and coercive control.
